Magnesium Citrate Doesn't Mess Around

This will be the first of many TMI posts.  Why post this kind of stuff?  Well, during my super worried research project about my laparoscopy, the only information that was really helpful were some other TMI blog posts by other women about how this process was for them.

Let's start off with the surgery prep of magnesium citrate.  I had originally planned on going to work on this day.  That was until I talked to my friend Liz, who is a nurse.  I thought taking the magnesium citrate would give me a one and done bowel cleansing.  She informed me that I was way wrong.  She told me I wouldn't want to be 5 minutes away from my house let alone my bathroom.

She was right.

I drank the first half of the mag citrate mixed with a little 7-Up over ice.  I got the grape flavored kind and it tasted like a Sweet-Tart.  Having it combined with the soda made for a very carbonated drink.  I had to force myself to drink it quickly.  It was a lot of flavor and fizz.

I decided that I would attack my mountain of laundry while I waited for it to kick in.  I got through two baskets before I was headed to the bathroom.  And there I stayed for the whole first episode of Walking Dead season 3.

I thought I was done and got 3 pairs of socks folded, then had to head back to the bathroom.

Fast forward 3 hours and my butt is asleep from sitting on the toilet so long.  And it burns.   Bad.  Plus my tummy hurts from all this business.  And I've totally stunk up the house.  Even Hank has started taking his naps on the far side of the house because I'm stinkin' it up so bad.

And I would really like to take a nap, but I'm scared.  I'm scared that I will poop my pants and have to clean everything up and never be able to live it down.
