Today was a crazy day. We had our school FALL PARTY at the end of the day and my class had earned an extra recess. They busted their butts to get everything done in the morning because we had our FALL PARTY in the afternoon. It's in caps because no one "said" FALL PARTY on Friday. We had to SHOUT it!
My kids were nutso (it's to be expected). I was glad to take them outside to enjoy one of the last really nice days of fall. We stayed out for 35 minutes and some kids played kick ball, some played 4 square, and some of the girls decided to braid my hair. I was looking awesome until they realized we had no hair tie and had to fluff it back out.
Upon calling them to line up for our FALL PARTY, my boys were saying, "We played hard, now we're going to PARTY hard!" So adorable!
The FALL PARTY was pretty good including a JC Penny-esque photo station where you and your crew could get your picture taken. I tried to make all of mine look like something out of awkward family photos.
All in all, it was shaping up to be a pretty good day, but the cherry on the top was getting invited to a bonfire birthday party by the twins in my class. And I would have gone had it not seemed kind of weird. I mean I really like the whole family (and could totally see myself hanging out with their mom) but a teacher at your birthday party?? I just couldn't do it to those kids.
Plus, that would mean I would probably have to go to other kids' birthday parties. Kids I may not like as much...and weird parents...
No thanks!
