You Get What You Need

I was just sitting and reflecting about this school year and comparing it to last year.  I feel like I'm just as busy (if not more so) but I'm able to deal with all my different jobs and duties better.  I also feel like I am keeping my house clean and making quality meals.

I was trying to figure out why this year felt so different.  The only thing I could come up with was that I truly enjoyed this last season of coaching and my class this year is so much nicer and lovable.

With the changes from last year, I feel like my work isn't work as much.  Don't get me wrong, it still feels like work.  But now, I don't lay in bed thinking that I should call in sick for a tickle in my throat because I really don't want to go in to school.

That got me thinking about why God threw so many curve balls at me last year, but this year has been so smooth.  Then I thought about the kids in my class.  This year my kids aren't just a nice group of kids.  They are pretty funny and definitely lovable!  They are huggers, too!  Just for no reason, they have the need to give hugs.  And it's not creepy or gross like hugs from kids usually are.  They are hugs that say, "You're awesome, Mrs. Wies!"  They are the kind of hugs that get returned.

It is a great reminder that God doesn't always give you what you want, but he gives you what you need.  And I needed a class like this!  It has allowed me to get away from the cranky hollering teacher I was last year and get back to myself.  I'm still cranky, and I still yell, it's just not all day, every day.  I'm able to enjoy moments with the kids in my class and remember why I teach.
