When Will it Feel Like Christmas?

**Thought I posted this on December 7th...oops!**

Where has my Christmas spirit gone?

She's late.

Normally, she's loudly announcing her presence on Thanksgiving by making me think, "After today, Christmas decorating and celebrating is legal!"  By Black Friday, I'm dragging the tubs and tree out of storage and spreading Christmas cheer all over the house.

This year, my Christmas spirit wasn't here by Black Friday, so I decided to get started without her.  And I didn't get too far.  Sure, my tree is up.  Luckily it's pre lit so I didn't have to mess with the lights.  The ribbon got hastily put on, the sparkly Walmart ornaments got put up along with about 4 of my regular ornaments.  I threw the star on top, put a few things with my garland on the mantle, bought some winter place mats, and I was done.

No lights on the outside of the house.  Haven't decorated the basement for our party.  Haven't picked out my coordinated wrapping paper and ribbons for presents.

I can't decide if it's the early fall weather that refuses to give way to winter weather or the fact that I've been busy to the point of being crazy that has made my Christmas spirit so late.  Now, in an effort to bribe her to visit, I've been watching Christmas Vacation and Home Alone.  I've also been getting pumped up for our Wies Family Christmas in the Smoky Mountains this year.

So, Christmas spirit, if you're reading this please get your ass in gear and get here so I can get down to the business of enjoying this time of year!
