Christmas of Contentment

I am content. I am comfortable. I am so very thankful for everything in my life right now. We all know that we should remember how blessed we all are more than on just major holidays, but right now seems so very appropriate to list out the things I am thankful for. They are in no particular order and some may be very random, but I'm in a mushy, lovey-dovey, fun, content mood so just go with it.

1. I am thankful to have such a loving and supportive family.
2. I am thankful for my seemingly cranky (but very loving and protective) husband.
3. I am thankful for a fabulous group of friends that really care about me.
4. I am thankful to have a home (especially one with a fireplace on a snow day such as this).
5. I am thankful for my babies(Bonnie, Hank, and Roxy) being such cuddle bugs.
6. I am thankful that my family has good jobs in a time like this.
7. I am thankful for family togetherness on holidays and non-holidays.
8. I am thankful for all day marathons of my favorite holiday movies (and the Dirty Dancing marathon).
9. I am thankful for a close-knit group of coworkers that make work tolerable if not a little exciting.
10. I am thankful for good literature.
11. I am thankful for awesome in laws.
12. I am thankful for my health.
13. I am thankful for many small, sometimes seemingly insignificant things that brighten my day and make me smile such as: holiday foods, unexpected gratitude and compliments, a baby’s laugh, a child’s excitement over the simplest thing (like a box), finding the perfect gift for someone, hearing from an old friend, a song on the radio that makes you want to get up and dance, getting the lucky 30% off coupon from Kohl’s, making someone laugh, and I could go on and on and on, but my heart is just about close to bursting with love and thankfulness so I better wrap it up.

I had such a good Christmas despite not being at "home" in Kansas with my family. Sometimes it's really hard to not follow our old traditions and form new ones, but I am very glad that our families are so accommodating and work so hard to make us feel at home when we're away from our own family.

I am sitting here in my super comfy recliner, figuring out my new computer, with a fire going, watching Dirty Dancing, with my loved ones safe at home. It doesn't get much better than this, my friends!
