So here I am, trying to switch over all of my files from my old computer to my new computer. Let's pause for a woohoo for the new computer! I've got the fire going because it's a mini blizzard outside and the dogs are laying here just sleeping. Until they need to go out.
Here is where I panic. No, I'm not panicking because the dogs may have an accident on the carpet. I'm panicking because I'm going to get shocked. Big time!
You all know the feeling. That fearful anticipation of the shock you know is coming, wondering how big it will be. I know it's going to happen. It is winter, the season to get shocked. This is the only downside to the new recliners. They are fabulous, wonderful, and oh-so-comfortable! But they also create a lot of static electricity. Especially when you wear sweatpants (and friends, you know I've been rocking my several pairs of old college sweatpants over break).
So, I'm on two computers at once (I'm great at multi-tasking), rockin' my sweatpants from the '02 season of volleyball and then it happens. Bonnie and/or Hank need to be let out. I have no choice but to get up to let them out. Well, I do have the choice to just let them go on the carpet, but I'm sick of cleaning up pee and poop so that's not an option. I have to slide out of my chair and find my way through the tangle of cords to get to the door.
Sometimes, I get a surprise shock from one of the computers. This may be my full shock, but there is usually a reserve amount for the doorknob. If I get the full shock from the doorknob, it's bad. I have to check for a burn mark. But the worst part is that I always pause in my fright. I think, "How bad is this one going to hurt?" and "How many times can this happen in one night?" Ummm, the answer is somewhere close to 267 times in one night...approximately.
I hate that fear of the shock. It's such a wienie thing. But it hurts. Like a paper cut isn't really a big deal but it STINGS!! You know!
Anyways, I'm tired of getting shocked every night! How many more days until spring?
